how is that bearing supose to be installed with the lock collar . It says to be sure to lock the collar to the bearing in the direction of cranckshaft rotation . I am not getting what they are talking about can someone explain that to me ? this for a mechanical pto on a 149

I assume you are talking about the front PTO, and the bearing and lock collar are slightly off center so that when you turn them in direction of the engine they will tighten on themselves and then you will be able to tighten the set screw. So... in the case of CCW direction engine... you would hold the bearing where it needs to be on the shaft, and spin the locking collar in the CCW direction so that the centrifugal force of the rotation of the engine will keep it locked on. It may make more sense if you get out there and turn the locking collar, then you will see how it locks on. I hope this makes sense.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
