Default (Sam Mac) your engine adapters

How do these look

( yes, they're both the same diameter)
Now that I made them to your drawing, what do they fit ?

Jeff
You did a killer job on the adapters. They will fit the hydro input shaft for the older style pumps that use the spirol pins and will bolt to the Cyclops style CV joints or the 2000 series type that use the plastic barrels in the coupler. One of those will be going in my Deere Cadet dump. That was a JD 317 that I stretched and put a Cub CH22 in for power. I had an M12 in it but it needed more power so being out of my mind and having a new CH sitting on the bench, well you know how it goes. Anyway if these work the way I expect it will simplify those re-power projects as far as the drive shaft is concerned. I’ll post some pics of the project but cut me some slack over the Deere thing.

The pic of the shaft has a 2000 series pump adapter on it but the one that Jeff made for me will replace it so I can pin it to the pump. JD 317's just happen to have the same input as older Cub hydros.

The slivers suck. Seriously it will get upholstered once I get the drive line all sorted out along with a sand blast and paint job. It’s gotten to the stupid point now so I might as well go all the way.

Thanks for the compliment on my work. I don't make anything I wouldn't use myself.

The last attachment made it perfectly clear on placement of the adapter.

I have material for four more here at home.

Jeff

Got the adapters today. YOU ROCK! They fit perfect.

OK you guys with older hydros if you have had all the fun you can stand with the rag joint rock and roll give Jeff a shout he can hook you up with an adapter that will allow you to convert to the Cyclops CV joint or the 2000 series shaft. The 2000 stuff has a 5/8" ID tube so all you need to do is cut it the tube and insert some 5/8" cold rolled and make what ever lenghth shaft you want. This is on a JD 317 pump but the input is 5/8" OD with the spirol pin like most of the older Cubs.

Thanks

I had a good drawing plus he sent a part with the correct bolt pattern so I could verify the measurements. Since I have the correct tools and the skills, it was easy to manufacture.

Couple pics of Debbie using the Deere Dumper to haul mulch for her flower bed. Think I may have trouble getting it back.

Figure we will run it a bit before I tear it down for sandblasting and paint.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
