Got a NF Blade.
Last week I drove to Ohio for a front blade for my 124. Got there and the blade was just as described. So we loaded the blade in the back of my pickup and we drove back to Virginia, stopping in Akron, OH for my wife to visit her relatives. Great trip!
Got the blade home and went to change out the frame, since the PO had modified it to work on a 1000. Couldn't figure out why no cotter pins were on the ends of the 3/4" bar that connects the frame to the snow blade. Hit it with a 2.5 lb persuader several times, but it didn't move. Turns out the PO had welded the 3/4" bar to the plow - no cotter pins needed now! So I took off the new frame I bought for the 124, and took the persuader to the already modified frame that was now permanently attached to the blade. The frame was about 13" across from QA to QA pin. 5 minutes with the persuader brought both sides back to 11" Fits the tractor perfectly! Now I have a spare frame that is brand new (although much paint was missing due to floating around a parts house for 30 years). Will probably list in the For Sale section here. Anyway, I ordered 6 tons of topsoil for my front yard to top the 100% clay that no grass can grow on. The driver dumped it in one place. Guess he didn't know that dump trucks can spread the load over many yards. Took me 8 hours of dozing to get the topsoil spread around. Ran at least 3 hours after dark with lights. My 124 and the new blade got the job done. Proud of this little tractor!

Hopefully this week I can media blast the blade and frame and paint it. I plan on using the black aluminum oxide from Harbor Freight instead of sand. Hope it works!
Where can I get some new shoes (skids?) for the blade? The ones on it are not in very good shape.
