I want to put an electric fuel pump on my M18, what pressure and flow rate should I be looking for? This is on a project tractor so I don't have a model # for you. The gas tank is almost a gravity feed since it is above the engine, not back under the seat pan, so I wouldn't be pumping it far.

I read somewhere to make sure the new electric pump doesn't put out more than 2 1/2 lbs of pressure. Didn't see anything about a flow rate. Anyone have photos of your electric pump installation on an 1811 or 1872? I'd like to see them.

I found two pumps, one puts out 1.5 - 4psi and the other puts out 3-4psi. Why would the psi vary, or can they be set? They are solid state pumps, Facet brand.

If it's above the carb you don't need a pump.

If I didn't need a pump I wouldn't be asking for help to find the right one.
When I am low on fuel the engine surges but when I fill it full it runs great. I don't think it is enough pressure. So back to my question, which fuel pump would work for the m18? Either one? Oak, I talked to Duke the other day and he said you had put one on one of your tractors but he didn't know which one. What did you use and what was it on?

Chip, I didn't put one on my 1811 because it wasn't needed. I didn't know you were having issues on yours, sorry I can't help.

According to Kohler, their Fuel Pumps run in the range of 1.5 to 3.0 PSIG with 3 PSIG being the Maximum.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
