Default First mow!
Been struggling with getting my cub 122 up and mowing all summer.

Well. It finally happened to day, though it was more like haying than mowing...it's been a few weeks since I brought out the push mower

Ran well. Smoked a bit. Deck and tractor were a bit noisey. But overall, I'm stoked. Thanks for all the help given to me on this board.

Looks like I got some work to do. First up is probably a carb rebuild, ad I had to keep choking it every now and then to keep it running.

At any rate, things a champ!

Congrats! A 122 is a fun tractor to mow with. If you haven't used the deck in a while, you may want to pop those spindles out and throw some grease on them...or grease them up really well with the zerk on top. Sounds like you are well on your way!

Good advice, and I probably should have done that before I mowed...I was too anxious. I bought this in February, so it's been a long process getting it to this point.

I also don't have the deck adjustment pin or whatever it's called. Just cranked it up as high as I could and held it on with the catch at the bottom. Not perfect, but I'll get there.

I know that feeling--

I bought a 147 that had a PTO that was in need of a rebuild- IE it wasn't even attached- and after waiting for parts for it and finally getting it installed I was of to mowing and couldn't be more happy. This was only after a month; I can't even begin to wonder how it would have been 8 months down the road!

I agree with lubricating the spindles-- I don't know when mine were done last before I bought it so it got 4-5 strokes per spindle, then I'd mow, then I did it again. Gotta keep them greased up!!

They will be greased before the next mow for sure.

I also have to get an air-cleaner....I went with an exposed carb. Again, I was a little anxious.

Now that it's running, I desperately need to find a snowblower or blade attachement.
