Question what model is this?

My cousin has a cub cadet but I can't figure out what model it is, his steering box split in half and I need to find him a new steering box, but I don't even know what model machine he has. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Chuck

Thanks D, I was at a camp out with my cousin who found this in a field and didn't know what model it was. The steering box obviously had water in it and froze because it just split. I've looked on ebay and not seen any steering boxes for this model. Any advice?

I do believe any steering from any 82 series cub will work.
682, 782, 1711, 1811, etc.

Someone else may help out, but I even think one off of a QL will work ie, 1250, 1450, 1650.

EDIT: Just looked on Cubcadet.com and they list the models that use that steering as:
1050, 1204, 1210, 1211, 1806, 1810, 1811

I bet they listed those models only because they used CCC's steering gear box..Which should be identical to a ROSS-made one, found in a 682, 782, etc.

I agree, I put a 782 gear box in my dads 1811 and it works fine

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
