Do you intend to take the whole frame apart or do it like some guys do and just paint everything assembled? I am in the process of doing a 148 and EVERYTHING was taken apart and sandblasted. (A new thread will be started soon). It took 1.5 qts. of yellow to do the frame and fenders. Over 1 qt. for the white if you do all at the same time plus several cans of spray paint. I used Case IH yellow and CC white w/ reducer and hardener.

Quart of each minimum. I used about 95% of a qt for the orange on my Sears Suburban including the frame, fenders (less surface than Cub fenders), suspension and engine. I did rattle can the transaxle. I really should have sprayed the rest of the qt on the fenders and wound up with an empty can.

I used case IH yellow and it was 17.00 plus tax. The white is about the same. I already had the reducer and hardner that were napa brand products. They recommend not mixing the brands together, but they worked for me. The reducer is a little less than the hardner and it was 45.00 a quart. You might want to get a gallon of reducer so you have enough to clean the gun.

reading the above and looking around the web, seems I was taken for a big ride on my NY paint purchases (like every other thing I bought from them but choices are slim in an area where people wouldn't know a lawn mower from a butter knife). I don't live there anymore. that Cub paint is amazing stuff!
hate to admit that I have one of those green things in my driveway awaiting re-assembly (2020 that might run, might not) so the paint post has taught me a lot.

Do not clean your spray gun out with reducer, it's wasted $$$. Use cheap lacquer thinner.
