Unhappy No go 122

I was out riding my 122 around the yard in second gear. Heard a POP, now when in any forward gear it won't go . In first if I come up with the cluch just a little bit it will go but hit any resistance it stops. Runs find in Reverse. Checked all spiral pins in cluch all ok . shaft from Clutch to rear spining. IS there a pin or something in the rear that could break? ANY IDEAS GUYS, Rich

Hi Rich,
There is also a spirol pin in the back. Have you checked that?

No, I believe there is another spirol pin at coupler AT the rear.

Rich, where you driving your tractor? Your lawn is as flat as this desk I am sitting at, AND you have a paved driveway!

Wish you luck in getting it fixed, hopefully its something small and cheap to fix!

What can I tell you, this flat ground here is very hard on tractors.I'am not even going to mess with it right now (The Rear). Already split the spare tractor. Took rear with creeper gear out changed to to another rear I had and This weekend I hope to split The CC122 That I'am keeping(the one with problem) and put the rear with creeper in it. PROBLEM SOLVED. Then when I get time I will disect the rear and learn and then reassemble it. The only way to learn HANDS ON .

Transplant was a success. Rear with creeper now in 122. Runs and works great. Now trying to get steering wheel off so I can take and rebuild steering. Have it soaking in PB BLASTER for the next few days. Have the tool that I got from Ebay so that is helping out.

Finally got the steering off. Blasted it with PB Blaster for the last couple of days kept working the steering wheel puller but wouldn't come off. finally blasted it again and use the air impact on it and When it let go, it pop good and loud. So tomorrow I'll take the column out clean and see what i need.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
