Default New flywheel assembly?

The screen on the rear side of the K301 engine in my Cub 123 is rattling around and grinding up the engine shroud. Seems it's part of the flywheel assembly, not to be purchased or repaired separately. Can someone confirm? I assume I'm due for one of these?

Also, I assume the tractor must be at least partially decoupled/split to get it in? Tried removing the driveshaft adaptor from this assembly last night, and it seems end of the driveshaft is captured by the center cup shown in the image above.

Thanks!

I've tried locating mine in my garge but I can't seem to find it to get a part number for you atm. But you can get just the screen. If I find it I'll get the part number for ya.

Parts lookup shows it as the drive cup and screen.

Thanks, guys. Anyone ever replace one of these? Split the tractor to get to it? Any chance of getting my old flywheel out and then finding I need the entire assembly instead of just the screen? I'm assuming the screen is what broke, but it could be something else. All I know is the screen is flopping around loose on the pully. Can't get my head in there to figure out why.

The screen probably cracked and broke around the bolt mounting holes. I have had several do that.

Mowtown USA carries this part, as well as the throttle shaft kits (if only I could figure out which kit fits my carb), so I'll probably just pick up a new one there.

Not looking forward to pulling the engine, but maybe that's less work than splitting the tractor (again).

Thanks, guys!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
