Just finished up getting the rearend bolted into the 800. Now I'm gonna run the linkage to the tunnel cover. Anybody have any pics of how the linkage runs? Also, where do you drill the holes in the tunnel cover? I know Lew's had NOS wideframe kits with the install directions and didn't know if he had a copy of em to pass on.
![]() Thanks in advance for help or pics. ![]()

CadPlans,
Thanks for the pics. You wouldn't be able to take a few measurements for me would ya? How far up from the bottom and possible measurement of center holes for all three holes in regards to rear/top/bottom of tunnel cover. I'd be most gracious ![]() ![]() Ryan, I'll keep ya posted if I need pics. I seem to be having a clearance issue with the battery cable hold down on the frame. I'll try to snap a few pix tomorrow. I've got the fender pan off still cause it's tons easier to work on the linkage and get it figured out.

I snapped a couple pics of the progress. The biggest thing I'm needing is where the lever gets placed in the tunnel cover. Once I get that drilled and placed, the linkage should fall into place. So measurements or even a straight side pic would give me a ballpark idea where to place it. Also added a creeper while the rearend was out. In the last pic, you can see the battery cable clip that is giving me clearance probs. Might just have to remove that.

Bolt the tunnel cover on the frame, position the pto handle so that the handle is vertical while the linkage will connect with the pto in neutral (out of gear).
The pto lever is pretty much centered in the cover side vertically. That method would be better than dimensions. You need the handle to be vertical, if you use my dimension, the handle might not be straight up!! ![]() |

CadPlans,
I was playing around tonight with the tunnel cover on and the linkage acts like it's too short. This rear pto kit is out of a narrow frame and I was told they were the same. I measured the bent wire linkage and its 3 1/2 inches from end to end. Is yours the same length? Might have to do some modding or make my own. Thanks for all the help.

That's what I was wondering. Time to troubleshoot and try to get the right length. Anybody have one laying around for a wideframe they can measure??? ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
