Just thought there should be a thread where we could see each other's rides and talk a little bit about them. I'll start.
Here's my '62. It now has a 10-horse upgrade. Non-original Original for sure, but that doesn't bother me at all. There's a little bit of sheet metal work to do on it and it took some tightening and tweaking to get it working properly. Runs strong and with a larger engine pulley, it's pretty fast too! Let's see how many Original owners we can cram into one thread. Note: you don't have to be the original owner, just the owner of the Original. ![]() And of course, ![]()

My son and I have an "O" but he has the pics We recently bought it to fix/repair to as much original as we can but with a few mods. It also will be a work in progress as time and funds permit. So far we have replaced a PO mod of the throttle and cable, cleaned the oil bath air cleaner and changed the oil. We have also drained the rear end to change that oil too and to replace the rear seals and bushings. The clutch is out and waiting for parts to rebuild it too. We first want to get it back into operating condition and as we can, find some of the parts such as seat, hood wing and front emblem. It needs some tlc and a repainting so as I said a work in progress. It is a low 4 digit serial number indicating it was made in Feb 61. It runs as is but has survived through a succession of POs some of which must not have had a grease gun. Yours looks cool.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
