Default 147 Questions
I might be buying a 147 from one of my uncles and have a few questions

1 Will the battery fit under the seat or is it already there?

2 If so can anyone post a pic of under the hood on one

If I can put the battery under the seat I am going to put another fuel tank on it to give it 4 gallon of fuel capacity.

The battery is under the hood. I suppose it would fit under the seat, but why?
Why would you want or need four gallons of fuel? Driving cross country?

I have an old stainless beer keg you could mount on it, 15.5 gallons should get'r done.

I just bought a 147 where the PO mounted the battery under the seat. They changed it to a full size battery and rerouted the cables. Not a bad setup I thought. It looks kind of crude though because they put c channel all around the seat to raise it up because the battery was too tall.

Will a normal cub battery fit under the seat without any modifications?

Yes. There shouldnt be any problems putting a normal battery under the seat. I suppose with mine the PO had S/G problems so he reowrked it with a full size battery, generator, and new amp gauge from a larger Farmall tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
