982 Non-Power Steering Front Axle
I have been considering putting a 982 front axle on my QL1000.
On partstree.com the 982 and the 1872 show the same part numbers for the front axle. The listing for the 982 does not show the "Steering Lever w/Fitting" which is the center piece the tie rods connect to. The 1872 listing has this center lever. My question is, does the 982 manual steering axle have a two piece tie rod like the 1872 or does it have a 1 piece tie rod like the QL1000!!??

They have two, And the drag link from the steering box connects to the center pivot too. The P/S models had two as well, but no arm for the drag link.

Yes it does,I think its a little stronger,lower gear ratio, and I'm not sure but I think it has a longer arm on it. I know it sure mounts different.
