I am getting ready to order some heim joints for my front axle tie rod ends on my 149 and super axle. I was looking at Mcmaster and they offer several different styles such as steel, high strength steel, bronze insert, some with teflon inserts for the ball and some with grease fittings. It's to much to choose from
![]() The cheapest are the plain steel with either the teflon insert or grease fitting. I would imagine you wouldn't want grease in them to catch all of the dirt ![]() The bronze bushing ones are just a little more. What have any of you used?

My thought on the grease fitting ones is that the ball is constantly going in and out dragging whatever sticks to the grease into the socket unlike other parts i.e. spindles that just turn turn and turn.
But you are right, keep up with them and it should be good. They are $3.00 cheaper so every two you buy you would get one free ![]() Anyone else have a say on this?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
