Here's what might be a dumb question. I am going to replace some seals and the Hy-Tran in my 1650 because the tube between the transmission and the main drive housing has a seal leak at the transmission end. I am trying to gather all the parts I need to fix this and replace the Hy-Tran BEFORE I tear things down, since this is my working tractor and I don't want to have to run around or wait for parts while it is down. My question has to do with the O-rings that seal the tube connections: the parts manual lists it as 'O-Ring, 3/4 x 15/16 x 3/32". I've always seem o-rings specified by ID and material thickness.
To what does the third dimension refer? Or, alternately, to what do each of the dimensions refer?

Thanks.
Three dimensions seems redundant to me (but I'm a sparky and not a wrencher).

Yep, it's clear. I still think only two of the dimensions are needed to fully specify the part's size. But, hey, you learn something new every day!
Thanks!

One day an engineer went to the tool room needing a special washer.
He quickly jotted down the dimensions. 1/2" OD 3/4" ID 1/4" thick. He came back 2 hours later, the tool maker handed him a small handful of chips!! True story, I was there to see the look on his face!! I was much nicer to the tool makers after that, I did not want that to happen to me!! |

You have to have all three (3) dimensions for proper fit.
There are several O rings available with the same ID & OD, but the diameter of the ring are different. SO....it is important to get the correct diameter NOT just the ID & OD or you will have a leak.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
