I should have just made this thread a while ago. I am always doing something to it it seems. Today I welded extensions on the sleeve hitch to run with my tiller gear box. Sugarmaker, I cant run a straight rod and have to use 2 pins for the hitch. The lifting straps seem to be a pain when ever you mess with them so I welded them together. (Hope there is not a reason why they werent connected in the first place?) Now I can move the pin around with out fumbling around with trying to hold both straps in place. Also turned an old hitch into an adapter for the sleeve hitch.
![]() I then welded my Johnny Bucket lifting rod back together because it broke. This is a factory rod but it had a bend in it. I would flex there and finally broke. Now its straight and lots stronger. I can also use the factory lifting holes in my lift arm now. It dont travel all the way though. It should go down a little more and when its up it barely tips without hitting the ground. I can get a fully loaded bucket of dirt though without to much struggle. ![]() ![]() I think I will drill a hole just above the one its using now and it might be just enough to work perfect both ways. ![]() I finished my wiring and I have headlights again. I still need to get some black automotive conduit. ![]() Yes one bulb is brighter. Not sure why other then the other one is probably about 40 years old? ![]()

Check the ground on the that dim bulb. That can make the bulb dim if the ground is bad. Connections might need to be re-soldered.

i just did this on my 122, added headlights and wired them in series so power went in one light out of that light to the next then to the ground. you need to wire them in parrallel so both lights have there own power. when i did mine is series one was dim other was bright, when wired in parrallel both were bright till the one 40 year old bulb blew lol

Larry,
Glad you started a thread on your 147! I like your idea of welding the lift bars together. Mine were flopping all over the other night when I was playing with them. I like the hitch on the back of the three point too Good functional improvements. The Johnny bucket would be a nice functional piece to have. Wiring looks functional, nice the lights are working. Maybe the old light is just not functioning very well? If you were talking about running a straight bead of weld? Yours look good. I have a lot of trouble seeing the puddle. I still like to fab some items and I see your not afraid to weld items where required. Regards, Chris

Larry,

Thanks guys!
I have the lights in parallel. I have ground and power going to the bright one. Then it would be like a jumper wire going from that one to the other. I did run another separate ground on the dim one and didnt see any difference. I guess for kicks I can try running both a power wire and ground to the other one too. As for the pictures do you think they are to big? Ive been trying to make them more like 1024 x 768 but I cant seem to get them to change on the site. If you see this without pictures its because I am editing them.

Larry,
This site seems to be able to accept very large pictures. I scale mine to about 400 x 600, but yours are fine! Bigger is better for me anyway. You wired your lights like mine, hot to one, jumper to the other. I did the same with the ground. Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
