Default Gas pouring out carb.

Hi about a week ago gas started pouring out of my 147's carb. So instead of posting here first i decided to clean the seat and adjust the float and when that did not work i ordered a kohler re buld kit. Now yesterday i re built the carb and re adjusted the float and still gas is pouring out the carb not nearly as much from when i started but it's still not working right.

any help would be really apreciated.

Was there a new float in it, or can you inspect the float carefully to make sure there's no leaks? Where is the gas leaking from on the carb?

When you did the rebuild did you replace the needle and seat? If they're new it should be closing properly though there may be some junk in between the two now. If there is a hole in the float you would be able to hear gas inside of it when you shake it.

Thanks i figured it out today. When the issue first started i pulled the carb and never checked the float right away but when i re-assembled i did and it was empty. There must have been a hole cause when i pulled it apart tonight the float was full.

Now my next question where do you buy just the float.

CC Dealer, any other dealer that carries Kohler, the sponsors, ebay, Tulsa engine warehouse, and probably a million other places. Pick your poison...

I'd suggest one of the sponsors, since they are good enough to keep the site free for all of us here!

I know Chris Westfall has them for sure, probably all of them could fix you up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
