Pretty much seems to be your choice. I also have seen both colors, tho I think the yellow looks nice inside the white rim.

I like the white look myself but most I've seen are yellow. The 82's I've seen have had them painted red.

I just picked up a pair of weights that need to be painted. Most of the white paint has come off, underneath that the PO used some sort of bronze colored primer, and under the primer the original color of the weights was yellow. I don't know if that pertains to all wheel weights, but the ones I have were originally yellow. I like the yellow weights in the white rims as well, so that's the color i'm going to paint them.

I bought some nos from a closed dealership, 2 sets were yellow and one white. So I guess either is correct. I like yellow on white rims myself.

The ones for the 82 series were white from IH or black from CCC...the only factory red ones would have been from a Farmall Cub.

I think I like the yellow ones on white rims also. I just purchased a set off craigslist today
so now I have 4 sets. Mayby ill paint 2 sets white and 2 sets yellow. I sold a set of Ih wieghts that where red and they did indead come of a red farmall cub on the front wheels.

My Sears are painted CC yellow which are on my 71. I like the yellow for wheelweights. But white is fine too!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
