I wasn't sure where to post this question, so I"ll put it in general. I'm going this weekend to look at some vintage items that a local guy has for sale in his garage. He mentioned that he has some misc. IH items for sale. I may not necessarily want all of the items, but if there are any IH collectors here, I may pick up the items to pass along to some of you guys.
One item is an old toolbox from an IH tractor, red, wooden bottom, hinged lid to the side, and IH stamped on lid. He said he also has some IH wrenches, tractor items, and I'm not sure what else. If anyone collects these kind of items, let me know. I'll update after I see what all he has, or possibly list them in the for sale section if I get them. Josh P |

anything with an 'IH' stamp on them is collectable.... did you see the episode of American Pickers where they found the IH umbrella? Cool stuff.

I seen it, Gary. They also came across some IH signs. I'd love to have an IH sign someday.

there was a thread a while back about showing your IH stuff. I agree, basically anything with a pre-case/IH logo is awesome.

Update: I met the fellow this evening, and got a few items. He couldn't find most of the wrenches, but he's not far away, and I'll probably go back another day. His garage is loaded with flea market items, and boxes packed full. We were in his garage for about 2 hrs. and it must have been 110 degrees in there.
I got one Case IH wrench, and a set of 3 dual reflectors which fold up into a metal IH box for roadside emergencies. The fellow knows what he has, and his prices are reasonable, but not dirt cheap. I didn't get the tractor toolbox. He wanted $50 for it, and I'm still thinking about that. Not sure it's my cup of tea, but I'm going to post pics of it to see what you guys think. It does have the original wood in the bottom in good cond, and that's why he said he feels it's worth the price. He does have another set of square IH road flare reflectors in the metal box. I may go back next week if he finds the wrenches, and I may get the toolbox too. As I said in the orig. post, I may pass a couple of these items on, so if anyone has an interest, let me know. JP .... I'll try to get pics of the reflectors and wrench later. ![]() ![]() |

That tool box you have pictured looks an awful lot like one that would go on a Horse Drawn sickle mower.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
