Default Cylinder head truing

I have a K 301 that I am fixing some oil leaks. I pulled the head off to decarbonize the head. I went to check for straightness on a piece of plate glass and noticed it actually ROCKED on the glass. I have tried to file the head and found it to far gone. I am looking for any ideas people have tried or had done. I have seen some horrors people have posted and wanted some ideas.

Attach some medium grit wet/dry sand paper to you glass with spray adhesive, then using a figure eight motion resurface the head. In time you should be able to get it flat.

My K301a was exactly the same. Followed a writeup here on how to resurface the cylinder head, and it worked great.
It took quite a while, and I even went with a little more coarse grit than the writeup recommended at first, and then finished it with a fine grit, both were done by wet sand method.

When I started it rocked back and forth on the glass surface horribly, and when I was done I couldn't even get a feeler gauge under it

Ran it at WOT for mowing, let it cool, re-torqued the bolts, and she's been good ever since.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
