Hi guys, hope everyone is having a great day! I was thinking of repainting my 127 from the CC yellow and white to Int'l red to match the "big" tractor's paint jobs. Is this a decent idea or is it "evil" to repaint a 1970 127 into anything other than the original paint scheme? Please reply with your thoughts on this. Thanks everybody and have a great afternoon!!

I think that it's totally up to you! We've seen some really nice custom Cubs that look awesome painted red. If that's what you want, then I'd say go for it!!

It's your tractor....paint it any color you want. Only color I don't like on a Cub is green.
We like pictures when you paint it. Here a Cub Cadet that was yellow and white when it came from the factory: ![]() ![]() The one on the right is what the Cub look like before it was rework:

Merk, how you doing? Awesome tractor especially with the tryke like wheels!! I love the paint job. I don't think that my paint job would be close to as good as your's, but I think that I am convinced that the 127 would be very neat looking painted red. Where did you get the international decals?
Thanks guys for posting your opinions on my idea!

Now don't hate me.... The only red CCs I have seen that I thought looked good and cool were made that way by their owner. The factory made em red, but not cool. I shouldn't let you know but I would pay a premium price for a CC that was red and cool. (But I'm not in the market)

That's awesome! I like everything about that machine, the narrow front end and stretched frame make it look like a miniature big red tractor rather than a cub. Did that start out as a 149. If you've got any more pictures of it I'd sure like to see them.

If you look here, you can buy a lot of parts to convert you old cub to something that looks like a big tractor. http://www.urschelsccc.com/

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
