Just got a deal, I think? Was looking for a nf to build another puller, looked through craigslist found a 1963 cub cadet no picture not to far from the house. Called the guy up he says its a model 70, no deck, but runs and has cc blade 150 bucks. got directions from the guy and pulled up out front see this nice 70 (older restore) out front think this cant be it (way to nice) guy says there she is. Needless to say we put it in the truck and got him down to 120. I found when I got home the button on the leaver to raise the blade was missing, but she purrs like a kitten. I never even been around one of these but I LOVE IT! So now we have a problem cant cut it up to make a puller. Just found a 1968 model 72 no motor but everything else is there got it and a set of 6x12 ags on rims for 65$. Must be my lucky week. Those ags look awesome on the 70, my 15 month old daughters day is not complete unless we take a ride on it. LOVE IT!!!!

I know thats what they bring here too! I would love to find a set of fenders and a sleeve hitch for the 70, but I'm not paying ebay price for them. The blade is missing a spring and a foot but I might be able to get by with it. I got the button fixed on lift handle with parts I robbed from the 72. Its also missing the sediment bowl P.O. installed rubber line and cheap plastic shutoff in its place.

Wow...I wish we could find deals like that in our area! What a steal of a deal! That sure was a good find! When I bought Allen's front blade it was $100 and I had to get it restored.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
