Default problems with a k321 in a 1450

Hi! About two months ago I bought a 1450 cub that seemed to be in good shape. I ended up replacing the front motor mounts (they were gone) and the back ones were still great??? Then the right side bolts (if you were sitting on the tractor) that hold the engine onto the motor mount were gone so I put two new ones in. Then I cleaned and adjusted the points, put in a new plug, and changed the oil. I have since mowed my yard three times with it (about 6 hours of run time) and putted around doing other work with it. The last time that I used it to mow, I was about half done when all of a sudden it seemed like the motor was either dying or trying to tie up but it only lasted a few seconds and it came right out of it so I kept going. About ten minutes later it did the same thing so I stopped and used my 1806 to finish. Now once the engine gets warm and you are working it (mowing) the engine seems to nickle and dime or rattle (seems like valve trane/cam noise). When it's cold it runs like a champ and will mow great and have plenty of power. But once it gets good and warm, it will make not so nice noises again. I changed the oil again, and there was a very little amount (had to look really hard to find any) metalic in the oil. What do you guys suspect to be wrong? Sorry for such a long post, but I wanted to give you all the details I could.
thanks for your time,
robert

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
