Rust, Paint and baked on grease removal.

I have been working on a cub 100 over the past three months. So, I do not have access to a sandblasting cabinet nor have the money to invest in a small,portable one. I do want to remove the paint and rust of my cub. I did some searching to find out what was out there. I found out that I could use some stuff laying around. I had a old car charger, some chicken wire. I have looked on the internet and other fellow cubbers webpages to check into electrolisis to remove rust.
I first tried baking soda and powder, and set up the line of sight setup. No good.

I worked towards another solution. I went to a hardware store and picked up a 3 ft piece of shelving, and six 2 ft 3/8" threaded rods. I made a pentagon shape to fit on top of the bucket, cut the rods in half and placed a nut on the top of each sacrificial anodes.

This worked very well. As far as the additive to the water, LYE.
