Well I just bought an 1862 and so far so good. It needs a little TLC. It runs and idles pretty well but I have a few questions regarding the hydraulics:
The hydraulic pump is a little more whiny and louder than my 1882, is this normal? When the tractor is at full throttle, and I raise the hydraulic lift lever, the lever sticks in the raised position and the tractor's speed increases notably. Any ideas a regarding this? Thanks. I will post pictures when the weather clears up. |

![]() When this valve sticks, the pump (hydro unit) utilizes the implement lift circuit which produces ~ 600 PSI as opposed to the normal ~200 PSI used for motion. Thus when this happens, if your Cub is moving you will gain some speed (forward or reverse).

The valve is on the left inside of the dash...open the hood, you can't miss it. All you'd probably need to do is remove it, disassemble it, clean it, replace the O-rings, and put it back together.
