Deck Belt Tensioner Arm Problem
Today, I pulled the cover off the deck pulleys to inspect the belt, and noticed how loose the deck belt tensioner was. I got to looking and noticed that the shoulder bolt was completely seized up in the tensioner arm (must be why the new replacement bolts have a grease fitting
 ), and so consequently it looks like it hogged out the hole in the deck. The pulley also was rubbing on the deck. I'm replacing the bolt and the arm with new ones. From the pictures, do you guys think I should have a plate welded on there to fix the oblong hole, or will it be ok to go ahead and bolt it in place? Should I also put a new spring on? Is this a common problem? Any other advice? Thanks for the help. '85 1210 w/ 44C deck.

well it wouldn't be a bad idea to weld a plate there but you might get away with puting a flat washer between nut and bottom of deck. if you weld it use low setting as posible so you don't burn through.
