I am trying to put a 44A deck under the 109, had a carrier with angle mule so all was good. DX gave me belt number so I changed the carrier and slid deck under and hooked it up. When I raised it up the clearance was very small. I started measuring and in the highest notch the blades were only 2 1/2" off the floor. I lowered the frond deck eyes all the way and put the adj rear hangers but all I got was 3" in front and no change in rear. I looked at another, had no tape measure and going off memory, (scary) and I could see nothing that jumped out at me. I am going to load it up and visit the guy with a 149 and an A deck to try to figure it out but as I eat lunch I thought I would ask if anyone had been through this. The straight carries for the U deck would not work so I am wondering if there is a carrier different than the tree I have, U deck, white one for C deck and a yellow that looks like the white with wide front eye hooks. Any takers?

OK, I loaded it up and went to see the man. After looking at some different carriers and decks we decided that --------- we have no freakin idea why it runs lower than his!! After measuring his 44U it hangs at a little over 3". Kind of low I think, dang, I would think you could mow at over 4" if you wanted. I ran out of time to dig any deeper so I left knowing exactly what I did before, except I met a nice Cub fan. I guess I will have to do some "adjusting" to get the 44C deck under this thing. I know some of you have done this, what am I missing???? The deck I am trying to use is a 44A, the deck under it that works is a 42U.

With a 44A on my 128, I only had to drop the deck maybe a 1/2" to mow. I could have left the deck all the way up and mowed and it would have looked fine.

I'm going to dig a little deeper cause I know I can get more than 2 1/2" high. But I know I might not get 4". The manual for the decks says cutting height up to 4", depending on tractor and tires. I will not go down without a fight! Hate to say it, but I threw the old batwing without baffles back on to beat the rain and mow the MILs yard. The SIL is coming in and I knew "mom" would be wondering/worrying about the grass getting tall and tomorrow is out of the question. Mowed in the rain and the dang yard looked really good, can't wait to get a better deck with baffles.

I had problems getting the 50 inch deck on my 1450 to raise level. After changing hanger assemblies and not getting deck level, I found 3 left side hangers that go between the lift arm and hanger assembly. All 3 are diffeent lehgths and the slots in them are different lengths. Check the roll pins in the lift shaft. I had one broken last year and that wouldn't let the deck raise level either.

Sorry for jumping in, but I to have a deck level problem. My 125 now has a
42" deck and the inside (left) is one inch lower than the right. It's while it's in the upper height, and I've checked everything with nothing looking out of place. Are all of these a little uneven? It seems the right having the support arm brings the deck up higher, or am I high? ![]() Was thinking about putting a 44" on this tractor for awile, but I now would like to stick with the 42", anyone have a clue?

You mentioned that you are getting about 2 1/2" right now and also mentioned that you can get about another 1" once you get those rear hangers unfroze. You won't get much higher than 3 1/2". Depending what your current tire pressure is, you could always add a few pounds in each tire. It doesn't take much to make a difference. I noticed that with mine. I had to readjust my lift knob when I had added a few pounds to each tire.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
