I built the motor mounts last night but it was to late to post the pics. When I got home today I installed the rubber mounts. If you're wondering the mounts are for a 55 chevy belair. They are the small mount. They were $.99 each at napa. The top mounts had to be cut at the bottom so they would fit.

is your alt going to turn the right way? it will make power either way, but the fan will only cool effectively counterclockwise (in your case).

You are right about the fan. I will have go to the starter generator shop in town and see if they have a fan that turns the other direction.

I don't technically NEED anything. I just want it to build. I love to tinker with/build things. Right now, I am in the middle of trying to figure out what to do with my parents tiller, as well as 40-11 other projects I have of my own...So yeah..I guess I do need a single cyl. KT17.

Nice work by the way. Its hard to see from the pic, but you know you can spin the alt on the same mounts and have the fan running the right way if the space permits right? I have nothing to add other than that.

the conversion looks nice. I am running tnto a similiar problem stuffing a d722 into a 1650. mine had the small frame 60 amp alternator with internal fan. moving the alternator makes the engine fit, and if I could find an alt with a fan that will run the other direction, I can make it look like everything is supposed to be there, instead of making a bracket that hangs the alt opposite the flywheel.

Some thing about this just seems right. Plus the drive line is the right length. Sooo how much longer is a super than a GT? I have been told its 6 inches or just move the fenders back until the front holes in the fender meet the rear holes in the frame.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
