Now, would they seal..... Maybe since it's just gravity fed. But I'd lay a dollar down and say the nut already on the line is fine thread.
Lew want's the dollar.

If he's got a old nut, and it fits, I'll send Lew the dollar.

IH tractors used the same fittings, but standard hardware store ones are threaded/sized different. BTDT too many times, but I'll eat crow and send the dollar if it works.

It's not about that. It's that there are two styles of fittings. One style uses a metal ferrule, and the other uses a ruber one. The fittings are different and won't interchange. Yes, you can use a copper ferrule style.... but everyone doesn't seem to want to do that. You can get the metal ferrule style at part stores, hardware stores....ect and they will work fine.

When I get home, I'll go through my fittings. I *think* I have some of each style. I'll post pics if I can find the fittings.

The ones you show on the eBay picture are listed to fit serial number 315229 and below. Different number for 315300 and above.

Well.... looks like I get to eat crow. I went out and looked and looked.... and looked some more. I had a carb with the original fitting on it. I went to the drawer and pulled out a random, run of the mill fitting that used a brass ferrule. What do you know, the nut fit.

On the larger Farmall tractors, they used the exact same set-up, only bigger line. I have had these apart more times than I care to count. Diesel engines also used the same line. I couldn't find a single one of those fittings, or I would show you how they differ from a standard ferrule style fitting...... but I assure you, they are very different, so either the small 1/8" pipe size fittings are made different due to the size, or IH just used a different style on a Cadet than the other machines. I don't know, and for today, I'm tired of looking for answers.

FWIW, I took an original elbow with me. When I got home, I screwed the new one in and the threads were the same. I don't see a problem with them?

Finally. Got all the parts and just made my own. If anyone needs one, I have a couple sticks of stainless. Never mind the Sarge hair.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
