My dad made the one we used at home...I'd say it was about 3 ft. long and 2 ft in diameter. He also welded a seat to the frame so we could ride along as he rolled. It was filled with old engine oil. We had a little 6 HP Sears tractor/mower and it seemed to do fine. Then, as I got older, I thought it was big fun to drive the tractor and let my little sister ride the roller. lol

If you wanted to coat it with something, I would look for a spray bottle (not aerosol) of WD40. Pour it in, tear around the yard like a maniac for several minutes, empty it out, and then fill it with water. Being a tight wad and a horder, I would try to put what I pour out back in the bottle and save it for the next year!

Give that hydro pump a break and use the 1000.

I think it is only fair to let them both have a turn pulling it around the yard, you shouldn't play favorites!

Thanks, Allen. I'll be getting some seat time tomorrow. Several of the neighbors want their lawns rolled now.

Nice. looks good too. So you going to run around the neighbourhood with a soup can attached to the cub, collecting for lawn rolling duties? Lucky dog, getting to roll that many lawns, so much seat time!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
