The # 1 piece is installed and oriented as the parts look-up shows.The flat tab with the L shape to it rest against the arm on the rockshaft.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't need it now. I sold the spring assist on this site & gonna sell the # 122 this Spring. I'm sticking with my # 109 & 127 for now. I'm gonna start looking for a wide frame assist for my # 109. That snow thrower is a beast.
