 Make sure you clean out the hex in the set screws so the allen/hex wrench fits all the way in. You will need a 1/8" allen wrench. I highly suggest only using a high quality set because is you round them off with a cheap set, you will have a difficult time drilling out the set screws. Also, there are TWO set screws in each hole ( six total ) Jeff |

			I looked at the manual.  There are two set screw in each hole then?  I noted some of these holes seem off to me.  Or is it correct in how they are?  Will be difficult trying to get anything down the set screw holes: And what about this bigger hole in the third pic? -Nate

			You have to disengage the PTO and rotate it around to line the holes up. Hopefully it still moves. Tap the button on the PTO with a hammer and see if you can get it to spin.

			hi all, I didn't get a chance to work on it until today(had been working on the 1650 project  ). On the good news I was able to tap on the pto button and turn the clutch so that all holes now line up.! Do the hex screws come out or do they just loosen? I am turning counter-clockwise and they just tighten up.  I didn't want to continue pressure on it until I asked your guys.  LOL Thanks for the help -Nathan

			There are two in each hole.  The top one has to come out to get to the bottom one. Mine tightened as I backed them because the PO had brush painted the tractor and filled the holes with paint.

			Exactly. Exposed threads get rusted and aren't very friendly. Use plenty of pb and work them back and forth very slowly and they will come out. A 1/4 x 20 bottoming tap might help if they are too boogered up

			looks like you just need to replace the button on the linkage arm that presses against the pto when you engage it        you don't have to remove the pto to replace that |
