Looking good! I have a 126 as well however it didn't come with creeper like yours did. The creeper and headlights I threw in. I have come to notice that some cubs came with skinny front tires and others came with fats...what's the reason for that? I will be following this thread!

Tire size has been an option for a long time even the Original had such options at least in tire styles. Definately with the series 2 (70 & 100) tractors there were options as to style and size of tires.

hah...I hope so. The 149 took almost 3 months. I'm hoping avoiding all the hand grinding will have this project done in 1 1/2 to 2 months.

Broke open the steering gear and cleaned it all up. Looks pretty good, but the retainer is pretty scarred up.

I really don't know much about clutches. Does this disc look good enough to save or should i replace it?

With all of the work you are putting into this 126 I would replace the disc, teaser spring and spirol pins.

Probably a good idea.

Is it just me, or does it seem like there's far fewer parts available than there was just last summer?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
