That's a great price, with what you paid with shipping, it's only about $5 more than a rebuild kit

Finally got a chance to put the pto clutch back on. Had to southern ingénue a puller for the bearing (see pic). Got it all back together and it seems to operate properly engaging/disengaging.....But I forgot to put in the vibration springs in. Do I need to take it back apart?

If you are asking about the anti-rattle springs, they aren't mandatory, but it will rattle without them (that rattle makes me crazy).

Many will tell you not to waste your time because they fall out anyway... I don't know that I've ever had any fall out (I don't go around checking them everyday either though).

They go in on the "non pressure side" of the disk fingers.

In other words if you were facing the pto and the fingers on the disk were the numbers on a clock, they go in before the numbers. The flat side goes against the basket and the side with the hook goes on the disk finger side, with the hook behind the finger of the disk.

NOW, that should be clear as mud!

Hopefully, someone will post a picture.

Those are the springs I meant. I didn't notice any rattle, but I didn't run it long and had not put the muffler on yet. Just verified operation etc. Thanks Sam. I may put them on if I get energetic enough to remove the pto again. I will definitely save them in case the rattle drives me crazy

I have been able, (on an old PTO, not a new disk) put them in without removing the PTO. With a new disk, you may not be able to though.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
