I replaced it because the part wouldn't come off so it will be a parts transmission. And the other one was 50 dollars.
And the previous owner stripped the threads and welded a bolt to the end. And the tiller tires that are on it are temporary just to move it around i still need to find the right tires.

When you run into a thick paint blob or run, take a small hammer and something like a nail punch to them. I used a welding slag hammer and chipped away at the runs, pick axle style. A couple of good hits and the paint will fly off the metal in chunks, so wear your safety glasses.

Heads up, if you replaced that entire rear end because of the broken brake arm/lever, there likely was nothing wrong with it. The rod the brake lever/arm pivots on is removable and it can be replaced. I doubt you're ever going to have a need for those individual parts you are planning to soak in oil. You might consider getting that thing back together, maybe with a local Cub nut's help.

I'm using a wire wheel at the moment and I was using the angle grinder on the rust spots. The brake arm wouldn't come off i tried hammer and it wont come off so im keeping it for parts. And i've played this game before if i sell the parts the parts i sell break and i have to buy them again so im going to keep them. And i have no one where i live who likes cubs and there are no dealers by me.

Also as for the carb I soaked my carb in white vinegar for a few hours and used a brass brush on it. It was shinning like it was new.
I let my carb soak in kerosene and scrubbed it down with an sos pad. And i dont want to modify my tractor i want to leave it the way it is.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
