The thrower is for the later 100 102 122,ect only will fit nfs.I would go for the 125 as you can use the thrower with it,and by the looks of it a newer replacement engine.

For me, if I had to choose one, and I had NO cubs.. I'd go with the 125 as a no brainier. I used one (Dads) for 20 some odd years and have nothing bad to say about it. It did everything I ever asked it to.
That being said, I've already got a 147 which is similar enough to a 125 for me, and I've been pining for an O, so I'd go for the O. On the other hand, the 125 has more options with it than the O.... I'd put my money with the 125. (or both if you have enough of the stuff.)

I'd say that 125 looks a lot better shape than "drug from a fence row" ! I wouldn't hesitate on either one.

The thrower doesn't look like it has been used much.... but it has been sitting outside. Look at the mounts. They aren't scratched up, and the inside of it isn't either. I think it has just been sitting either in a dirt floor barn, or outside. ![]() |

125. I liked my 125 until I realized that I much prefer WF Cubs.

Yeah, I dunno..... There is a 1000 down there now.. but it's missing the motor for all practical purposes. Well, it's all there.... in a box. I'd much prefer the WF gear drive

Well, I made up my mind and shelled out some cash...... for neither. I'll start a new thread later when I get it home, but I ended up buying a 1000 that showed up today when I went down. AND I bought the thrower that was behind the 125. I don't know if I got it for "Lew" price. Gave $125 for the 1000 and $70 for the thrower. I think I did ok..... What do you guys think?
IMG_20130809_185402.jpg Like I said, I'll start a new thread with more pics when I get it home. I was really looking for a gear drive cub. That's why the 1000 interested me more. I want the thrower for the 71 "project" that I'm getting ready to restore for my Grandad. Let me know what you guys think!! There ya go CAD, a quietline!!! LOL! |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
