Yeah I wondered about that rear end myself. I just pulled up the service manual for the 772 which I was told was very similar to my 882. The manual has installation instructions for a rear PTO and 3 point hitch! The hitch looks like it will hook up to the tiller. I doubt the PTO would drive the right angle box but the box could then sit on the rear end and the hitch could carry the tiller possibly. It looks rather interesting.

Why not? Works great on mine...
100_8187 (Medium).jpg jluster- You need a Cat-0 3-point hitch for the diesel. If you want to use one of the older belt-driven tillers, there is an adapter package to use it on a tractor with a Cat-0 hitch, but that adapter package is hard to find. I wound up making it. Details are on my website. |

I just got the tiller running on my 682. I would be willing to trade the 682 with a tiller for a 882.

I know Doug (4SPEED) will trade a lot for that 882 as well! I am going to start looking for these attachments 3 point and tiller adapter. But I think I will keep the 882 for a while before I give up on it as my true garden tractor for tilling and plowing.
It does need some work. Can hardly steer it, tires leak, throttle needs to be held up with a wire, and needs new PTO switch. Basically I would rather mow with my 129 than the 882 at this point but the 882 will climb the hills (with chains and rear wheel weights) that the 129 will not. I think I will try to get my 1200 running soon and see if I cannot get the tiller on it. Boy if the motor in my 1650 would turn over, I would have better hope for the tiller on it.

I didn't figure you'd let it go, but I thought I would throw it out there.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
