Also, what would you guys do about the rust between the tunnel and frame? I don't think I'm going to get it all with the sand blaster, any suggestion?
Hi Zippy1, If the rust is still an issue, a rust converter will only work on rust not clean metal or old paint. I would use a mixture of farm grade molasses and water forget the ratio, it takes some time but will take everything off. You can Google it and see for your self. Keep up the good work, Clay

Looking good!

Thats a cool looking sand blaster. Does it attach to a compressor or does it have its own air source?

I guess I should of explained a little better. The inside of the tower was (just) surface rust, not deep like on the frame. I tried the inside before I ran out of sand, and the sand blaster removed the rust well. But I will be looking into the rust converter when I get to the frame.
No I didn't get the pin out yet, tried everything but the heat wrench. I don't have one yet, so I'm waiting for my buddy to get some time and bring it over to his shop. IT WILL COME OUT!
The sand blaster I got years ago from Fleet Farm. It's run with my air compressor, and does a good job, not the fastest, but it get's the job done.

I guess the deer ain't gettin' the gallon of molasses I bought last month!!

I can get it for $6 a gallon, so it will be a cheap try.

I guess deer molasses is the same thing.

The deer will have a little higher iron oxide in their systems next year!!

Duke, you should be a mind reader, your pretty good at it!
I had a good cub afternoon today. It rained so I got to work in the shop on the 100. Seeing it was a little cool, I started a fire and cooked me some bear steaks for dinner, yum, yum!
Started wire wheeling the trans and rear end, coming off harder than I thought it would. Seems to have been painted at least twice.
Hey Duke, isn't this part of a face lift?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
