I quit. There is no way on this earth this belt will go on! My tractor guy tells me I need an 89-90" belt - NO LONGER - even though CC says 92". He has put this on before and the 92" is just too long! Based on his instructions, I got a 5/8" 89" long V-belt, which, according to him, should fit. As much as it ticks me off, I have no choice but to pay this guy to drive over here and put the darn thing on for me. I am certain I have everything correct, but I will take the new belt and the old belt back to where I purchased it just to make sure something isn't right. Thanks for your help though. Why is this stuff that should be so simple, 5-minute-fix, so darn frustrating?

Pretty sure you have to drop the mower deck and put the belt over the hanger and re attach the deck.

Just wanted to follow up and let you know that I ended up having to call my "tractor guy" who lives about 20 minutes away. He got the dang thing on (just like you said, starting on the pulley and turning the pulley) in less than two minutes! Ugh! He did say that this one (89") was tough and advised me to get a belt that is 1" longer if and when I need to replace it again. At least I felt a little better about not having the strength to get the dang thing on! Thanks for your help and thanks for being here!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
