Default Broken Hood Hinge

Hey guys, my hood hinge broke (really rusted) mid mow yesterday. Anyone know if this is going to fit my 72 128.

http://ccspecialties.org/pics/wfhingelarge.jpg

I'm pretty sure my hinge has 4 bolts in it, not 3. Any ideas where I can find a replacement?

Thx,
Mike

The picture of the hood hinge you have provided is fold-up not showing the other side. It should have 3 holes on one side of the hinge that mount to the upper hood extention and 4 to mount to the lower grill housing. Original IH part number is IH-545508-R1 and has been replaced with part number IH-545508-R2.

Edit; I was incorrect on the 4 mounting holes to the lower grill housing.

Msobie64, I am wrong again. There are 4 mounting holes on the lower grill housing. Sorry for the confusion.

Contact our sponsors located at the top of the page or place a wanted add here on OCC. I am sure one of those options will get you the correct hinge.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
