I think the brake rockshaft needs to come out, but I can't remember. Replace the brake puck o-ring while you are in there if you haven't.

I'm with Matt, Kelly. I'm pretty sure in order to access the bottom of the pump bolts the brake linkage must come off, its not too hard especially considering I just had it off of that 682..hehe! I also replaced the brake puck o-ring...Matt was nice enough to send me a few a while back, so you should be good there

Well narrowing in on the final stages of the repowering of the 682. The engine is in and bolted down, driveshaft done, hydraulics installed and the ported pump installed. Now on to the wiring and exhaust modification. Want to keep it on the quieter side. Hopefully Saturday morning will be her maiden voyage.

Progress finally and we got her fired up today. Sounds really tough with out a muffler on it. Wiring is all done and works like a dream. I reused the wiring harness from the 2185 and all the wires that had to be extended extended or shortened were soldered and covered with heavy wall shrink tubing. Added a couple indicator lights in the dash. One for low oil and the other is a charge indicator light. Also added a functional oil pressure gauge that will be light when the headlights are on. Next on to the muffler. Motor runs at 40lbs oil pressure warm at idle. Couple pics of my progress.

Awesome work. I do like being able to see my oil pressure too. It likes to be @40 psi also.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
