The rectifier should be bolted to the outside of the flywheel shroud...I can't remember which side. At any rate, it's pretty much out in the open and easy to get at.

Thanks for the snap reply Matt. the application isn't quite CC but thought that since alot of Cadets used Kohler it mignt be the same. the engine that i have has the wiring going into the shrowd above the starter and up toward the carb. i took off al the air cleaner hardware thinking it was up in there, but not. i guess i'm going to have to figure out the wiring diagram and do some snipping and terminal action and mount it externally. once again thanks Matt!

Vince,it's in a '99 Chetech Pug UTV. i have all the manuals, but kohler is notorious for not having as assembled exploded view schematics. the flywheel side shrowd cannot be removed in vehicle. and pulling the engine is such an involved process, i think that nipping the wires where they enter the shrowd and adding terminals would be far easier.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
