Thumbs up The 71 has been refurbed!!

Got to breakin down the 71 a few weeks ago and just got it back together today! Removed everything except engine/drivetrain and replaced some parts with new. All new heim joints and a steering rebuild make a ton of difference. Pulled wiring harness and fixed a couple bugs with that and put a Bosch blue coil on it. Went and put gas in it a few minutes ago and she fired right up, had to unfreeze clutch plate, but that was only issue

Excellent job on that restoration!! I like the duals, the Bosch coil coordinates nicely with the headlight decals and the fenders are all nice finishing touches!!! Way to go. Will you eventually put that back into service? A lot of the guys locally in the antique tractor club will restore tractors, show them for a year or two and then return them to service after that.....just curious.
I have found that mowing dirties them up faster than plowing or snow removal. Well, whatever you choose to do, your restoration is very nice and you have a fine tractor to show for it!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
