Default deck adjustment

Hello all, I have a 127 with a 48" deck. I was wondering if there was any tips or tricks to leveling out the mower deck..... I read the book, and was wondering how you all go about it. Thanks Jason

There is an easier way, but I can't remember where I saw it. I just remember them saying to forget the manual cause this other way was easier. I know that's a lot of help, but a little digging will find it.

I'm in the same boat, although my 48" is cutting mohawks in my lawn.

My wife hates it.

I think it'll start a new trend, 3D lawn cuttin.

Nice, I would check the spacers on the blades, sounds like they are not all in the same locations. If you get all three on on side you can raise/lower one blade close to an inch. Check to make sure all the blades are the same also, unless you just like making the wifey made, but, if your like me, I like to eat so might just look into it.

Thanks Red,
I had the deck off a week ago and spaced the blades to be even.
Unfortunately it looks as if the deck itself is bowing in the middle, and one or two of the spindles is rotating off axis causing one side to cut lower. To add to the problem the spindle that needs to be shimmed straight has a broken mounting tab

I still have two other cubs with good cutting decks but they are smaller at 42" and 38". Takes a good while longer gettin things done with them.

Sorta fix'd the Mohawk problem.
Moved the gauge wheel on the low side down a hole, seemed to sort out the issue. May have to move the pair down another set to keep from scalping the lawn when it gets hot but for now she's mowing good.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
