I can't seem to find this thread, and I know it's been answered a million times. BUT, how do I properly identify which carb I have? I'm worried my 1450 may have had the engine changed out at one time, but not sure. I need to order a rebuild kit. Thanks for any help.

take your breather off and look at the top of the throat, there should be a number if its a kohler. not sure about a walboro, never saw one in person. also look in the technical library-tractors of OCC and look up "manual-kohler k series service manual" then proceed to the "fuel system and governor" section. i hope this helps!!! jeff

I took the breather off to take a look. I have a "K" on the butterfly. There is a number stamped on the back of the carb "4705309". So after reading the service manual, this appears to be a Kohler carb? If so, anyone know the part # for a rebuild kit and float? I appreciate any assistance.

There are different sized carbs for particular engines. The most used size is a #26 and a #30. The #30 being used for the 14 and 16 hp models. If you open the choke butterfly and look inside the throat of the carb, the number of your carb should be stamped.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
