Put your sniffers out guys!!! I'll trade my 122 for a 982. It has to be Cherry!! I have over 5000.00 invested in my 122 and it's the cover tractor on Hank's book.

Speaking of Hank's book....anyone hear when his new one is due off the press?? I believe Roland was going to update us on this? Steve you know Hank, can you give him a jab too - I am waiting for it!!

Iluvtruks.....glad I made you chuckle - that was my intention!

Trade Jaybrd? Who said anything about trading - I want your 682 outright! How am I supposed to add to my 82 Series family if I dump one of them? I don't have any twins yet - so I have to hang onto any I get so far. Sorry man! Nice try though!

the 982 was also IH answer to JD's 400 series and if I'm correct filled the void from the discontinued lo-boys.

Gary, never though about it that way...last yr run for the 184 was 1979. 1980 first yr for the 982.

I think I recall reading that in Ken Updike's book on IH CC. In the last section 'return to red'. If you think about it the 982 appears to be a lot more capable than the lo-boy was. Even though the lo-boy was super sweet! The manual transmission in the lo-boy made it somewhat too difficult to do some things.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
