I love my 73...... Its very easy to drive and sips gas........I kept the original size 6-12 rear tires, i think it looks cool. I cant wait to paint the fenders......That and the front wheels are next project.

I had posted links to GCT about deestone tires, looking on ebay found this ad:
http://cgi.ebay.com/TWO-New-Deestone...item53e5ebd6fa Look at the last of the three pics, it shows a comparison of the 3 ag tires they have available, the deestones are dwarfed by the duros and tru powers, of course these are unmounted and uninflated, but still quite a difference in size. Was sure I wanted the deestones, now may be reconsidering and going with the tru powers. The narrative in the ad tells about the differences as well, but seeing is believing.... |

OK Jay, your little 73 has really made me home sick for the one I use to own,it was a plain Jane w/fenders "rattl'n smoker" when I got it...6 months later fresh engine build w/crank and loaded options and was a sweet worker for garden or blade chores. Of all of the 7 hp models built the 73 is the least, 1X8 WF 86 took it's place. Take my advise Jay,do not let anyone talk you out of it...I did and have been sick since!! Very sweet little machine you have there!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
