Default QA-42 Mounted on a White tractor

Im a newbie here. Actually found this site while trying to see if anyone has been foolish enough to attempt what a friend of mine is trying to do for some advice. Hopefully someone here can offer some words of wisdom on whether this is even possible.

He has an old White lawn tractor with PTO. Not sure what model or year it is but it's a 17hp briggs. He acquired a qa-42 snowblower and has it mounted to the front of the tractor. Everything was hooked up and functions great, the only problem is, the White tractor runs in the opposite direction apparently, because the snowblower turns in the wrong direction, basically making it useless. Here's the question, is there any way to reverse the direction in the gear case of the snowblower or any other way he could make this work? Or should he scrap the idea and just find a tractor that was actually meant to handle the qa-42?

(A) IF possible, one could twist the drive belt into a figure 8 and "hope" that works
OR
(B) Scrap the whole idea.

Thanks for the input everyone. I believe finding a new tractor is the best option.

We found a cub cadet model 1215 on craigslist. Does anybody know if the QA-42 will work with that model?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
