A leaking head gasket is part of your compression issue but the fact that the exhaust valve isn't opening is another part of the problem. If the engine can't get air into the cylinder, then there's no air to compress.

You know what? That did not cross my mind. Even if the head gasket was good there still would not be any compression since the intake valve is not opening. Exactly like you said, there would not be any air to compress.

I caught the drift of what you were saying and it mskes prefect since to me. That is why I like to post here. Sometimes I am just to close to the sitsuation to see everything clearly. You fine fellers have a third party view and are able to see things from different angles.
