Gas tank painting question
I stripped my gas tank and it almost looks like a "tinned" surface. What do you guys do to prime and finish so a gasoline spill will not destroy the finish ?

IMO, as long as you prep the metal correctly you can paint it with pretty much any primer and paint of your choice.
But for protection from gasoline you best bet is the final coat of automotive clear coat, such as this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0082LJMC6...hFallback&th=1 Hint#1: Do not attempts to powder coat these metal tanks. The two halves are soldered together and the heat of the oven will melt the solder and the halves separate. (don't ask how I know) Hint#2: Mask off the treads for the fuel cap. The thickness of paint on them makes for too tight a fit for easy on/off of cap.
